In 1973, Delta Sigma Theta chartered a chapter to implement its mission of service to Tempe and surrounding communities. Thanks to the generous donations of community supporters like you, the Tempe Alumnae Chapter is able to provide scholarships for Arizona students to pursue higher education, implement youth development programs for middle and high school girls, support refugee families settling in the Valley, host an array of health education and financial literacy events, and advocate for public policy that improve the lives of women and children.
As we reflect on 50 years of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action, we are hosting a celebratory fundraising event that will support the expansion of these programs. Join us in the celebration and contribute to this amazing community work as we embark on our next 50 years.
Friday, June 9, 2023 - 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Tempe History Museum (809 E Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ 85282)
In honor of 50 years of service to Tempe and surrounding communities, an exhibit honoring our visionary charter members and their legacy of community service will be featured at Tempe History Museum. Join us for the exhibit opening and reception where we will take a historic trip down memory lane as we highlight our scholarship and youth development programs, cultural events, and other community projects.
Saturday, June 10, 2023 - 6:00 - 11:00 p.m.
Tempe Mission Palms Hotel (60 E 5th St, Tempe, AZ 85281)
Put on your black tie attire and join us for a night of art, culture, and entertainment as we revisit our signature events from the past 50 years. In honor of our Ebony Art Show and Sisters in Creation, we will start the night with an art showcase of local artists and feature 16-year old saxophonist, Ayo Brame. We will roll out the red carpet as you enter the gala where we will honor many of our historic fundraising events, such as the Peppermint Cabaret, Hats Extravaganza, and House Jam while you enjoy a night of live music, dinner, dancing, and fun.
Tickets are $150 and include admission to both events. Although seating is open, many of our members have sponsored a table so if you are purchasing a ticket from a member of our chapter, please provide her name when you make your purchase.
If you would like to host your own table to support our community programs, a table sponsorship option is available and comes with 8 tickets to the event and a quarter page advertisement in the electronic souvenir journal for $1200.
Rooms are available at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel for $159 per night just for our event. This room rate is available until May 22, 2023.
For our supporters that want to make a major donation to our community programs, sponsor packages are available that range from $2,500 to $10,000. We are looking for partners whose values align with ours to improve communities. Our sponsor program provides engagement in our programs as well as access to our network for a year.
Please contact us at finance.group@dsttempe.org for more information.
To commemorate this historic event, an electronic souvenir journal is being published. Sorors, friends, and supporters may purchase advertisements to highlight your business or to send anniversary well wishes to the chapter.
