Financial Fortitude is a national initiative of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated designed to help our members and the community realize the overarching goal of personal wealth and financial security, through an understanding of basic financial principles and building community through economic empowerment. The initiative is comprised of ten components and provides a collaboration of information from major economic development partners and other well-known financial institutions. The ten components include:
Delta Sigma Theta has joined the dFree Foundation to educate and empower the African American community to pay off debt, manage investments, and build generational wealth. This includes collectively paying down $1 billion in consumer debt through the Billion Dollar Challenge, enrolling in the online academy for financial literacy, and exploring wealth building investments.
Blax Friday is run by Black business owners who joined forces to build a bridge between Black owned businesses and the communities they serve. This is a free listing of Black owned businesses in Arizona. Download the app, follow on social media, or sign up for the newsletter for local events.
Through our partnerships, we are able to connect people, locally-owned businesses, and communities for meaningful actions that build a diverse, inclusive and prosperous Arizona economy.
On the first and third Saturday of each month, Archwood Exchange showcases an array of Black-owned businesses from around the Valley. This pop up marketplace is a festival and family reunion all in one and a great place to connect with our entepreneurs.
We are a proud community partner of the We Rise business accelerator hosted by Local First Arizona. This program provides education and business mentoring to entrepreneurs to build a successful business in Arizona’s economy.
